(Des Moines, IA) -- A convicted drug dealer, who led cops on two Marshalltown high-speed chases, is going back to prison. Investigators say they repeatedly encountered 53-year-old Lonnie Hill of Ames, with large quantities of marijuana, meth, heroin, guns and thousands of dollars in cash. Hill had been on parole when he was last arrested in 2020. He's been sentenced to nearly 20-years in federal prison.

Hill pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and felon in possession of a firearm. Hill’s term of imprisonment will be followed by five years of supervised release.

Investigators say between May and July 2020, law enforcement officers in Polk and Marshall Counties repeatedly encountered Hill with drugs and firearms. During one high speed chase in Marshalltown, Hill crashed into an occupied vehicle.

Hill has a lengthy criminal history, including multiple prior felony drug trafficking convictions. Hill was serving a state term of parole when he committed the offenses charged in this case.
