(Ankeny, Iowa) -- Ankeny Police say a four year-old girl is recovering from a gunshot wound.
Police say officers responded to reports of the girl suffering a gunshot wound at a home in the 900 block of NE 5th Street around 11:45 Monday morning after receiving a 9-1-1 call. Police say she was taken to a local hospital by ambulance. Her condition hasn't been released.
Police say they're interviewing neighbors and are seeking a warrant to search the house where the shooting happened. Both of the child's parents are reportedly at the hospital with her as she continues her recovery.
