Omaha Streetcar Authority Leaves The Barn

At the Omaha-Douglas Civic Center, the Omaha Streetcar Authority, created through an interlocal agreement between the City of Omaha and "Metro" transit, makes history by meeting for the first time in an official capacity.

During the initial session, they named developer Jay Noddle the authority's first President.

City of Omaha Public Works Director Bob Stubbe is named Vice - President.

Though the first street car is not expected to roll for a few years, the authority is in place with a view of hiring a consultant.

The authority will meet on the third Monday of every month at the Legislative Chambers of city hall.
