(Undated) -- The Iowa legislature is moving closer to adjourning after the Senate Appropriations Committee voted for 10 budget bills to advance. The bills were passed by the House in April and the Senate reached agreement Wednesday to many of the bills. These bills would allocate budgets for the next fiscal year which starts in July for the state general fund, for health and human services, veterans funds, college aid, agricultural departments, a petroleum underground storage tank fund, and others. Both the House and Senate are expected to adjourn the session next week after being in overtime for over four weeks.
