(Cedar Rapids, Iowa) -- Cedar Rapids will host the National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championships for three consecutive years starting next year.

Cedar Rapids Tourism says The Alliant Energy Powerhouse will host the championships in 2023, 2024, and 2025. Wrestlers from Divisions I, II, and III will compete at the championships. The announcement comes as the University of Iowa prepares to debut its women's wrestling team. The Hawkeye women's team will begin competition in 2023.

Cedar Rapids Tourism says the event could bring up to two million dollars into the local economy over the next three years.
