(Des Moines, IA) -- Iowans may have to postpone outdoor events this week.
"It looks a little unpleasant, especially with the breezy, rainy conditions, but the good news is by the time we get to Friday and the weekend, we'll be back into the 70s and 80s," said Ashley Bury of the National Weather Service in Des Moines. She says severe weather is not likely, although weak thunderstorms cannot be ruled out. She says the threat of storms will increase this weekend as temperatures rise.
She says rainfall amounts may be 1-2 inches throughout a large part of Iowa, but the flood risk is relatively low. The risk of having to mow your lawn again soon is high.
