The massively redesigned "Eugene Leahy Mall at The RiverFront" in downtown Omaha will officially open for its first day of operations on Friday, July 1st.
"The RiverFront" announces a free concert that night will feature Tony and Emmy Award Winner Kristin Chenoweth and the Omaha Symphony.
Grand opening evening events are free to the public.
· Friday, July 1st: Kristin Chenoweth will headline the first Gene Leahy Mall Performance Pavilion concert alongside the Omaha Symphony at 8:00 PM.
A multimedia show will follow, utilizing projectors, LED lights and speakers strategically placed around the park.
· Saturday, July 2nd: Country music's Brett Eldredge takes over the Performance Pavilion with special guest Lauren Alaina at 8:00 PM.
· Sunday, July 3rd: The University of Nebraska-Omaha Theatre Department presents the musical "Fame" at 8:00 PM in the Performance Pavilion.
· Independence Day, Monday, July 4th: To close a day full of events throughout the park, the Omaha Symphony presents a "Salute to our Military."
The 8:00 PM concert is sponsored by the USS Omaha Commissioning Committee and concludes with an Independence Day fireworks show.
Blankets and portable lawn chairs are welcome.
Staking items and plastic tarps are prohibited.
