(Des Moines, IA) -- Early voting has only been open for just over a week but that’s not stopping thousands of Iowans from already casting ballots. Over 25,000 Iowans have voted in the primary since May 18th. About 200 people have been voting early in-person daily at the Polk County Auditor’s Office alone. The primary date is June Seventh, and the general election is on November Eighth. A new law put in place since the 2020 election mandates all mail-in ballots must be counted by the time polls close on election day to count.
