(Linn County, Iowa) -- The trial of an eastern Iowa man accused of shooting a law enforcement officer is being delayed.

Stanley Donahue is accused of shooting and wounding Linn County Deputy Will Halverson during a gas station robbery last summer. Donahue's current defense attorney is leaving the Johnson County Public Defenders Office, and a judge in the case says the trial will be delayed to give the new attorney time to become well-versed in the case.

Donahue's defense has asked for some evidence to be suppressed, after finding out that police showed the gas station employee on duty the night of the robbery a photo of Donahue. That employee later identified Donahue as the robber.

A new trial date has not yet been set.
