(Ames, IA) -- Two Iowa state students are dead after one of the woman's ex-boyfriend shot them at Cornerstone Church in Ames. Story County Sheriff Paul Fitzgerald says 32-year-old Jonathan Lee Whitlatch of Boone shot and killed Iowa State University students 22-year-old Eden Montang and 21-year-old Vivian Flores before taking his own life Thursday evening. Fitzgerald says Whitlatch was arrested in Boone County and charged with third-degree harassment and impersonating a public official last month and was out on bond. He says Thursday's shooting was the result of a domestic situation between Whitlatch and Montang.

Governor Kim Reynolds tweeted she's grieving for the families who lost loved ones in the shooting. She also asked for people to pray for the victims and their families. U.S. Representative Cindy Axne of Iowa tweeted the same sentiments as Reynolds, sending prayers to the people of Ames.
