(Des Moines, IA) -- It'll take at least a year longer to build Des Moines' new soccer stadium. The Iowa Soccer Development Foundation says the downtown stadium won't be completed until at least 2025 because of increased construction costs. Plans for the stadium were announced back in 2019 with a goal opening date of 2024. When the stadium opens it'll be home to Iowa's first United Soccer League franchise, which is one tier below Major League Soccer.
