Sendoff Planned for Iowa Army National Guard Soldiers Ahead of Deployment

(Johnson County, IA) -- A sendoff for nearly 80 Iowa Army National Guard is being held at the Clear Creek-Amana High School gymnasium in Tiffin next weekend.

The soldiers are assigned to the 209th Medical Company and well be deployed to Poland as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve, a missing to provide support to NATO allies. The unit has previously deployed to Iraq in 2003 and was activated in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans.

The sendoff will be held at 1pm next Saturday, July16th.
