(Lancaster County, NE) -- An autopsy is underway on an elderly man found dead Monday morning.
The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says they consider the death of 78 year old Gene Oltman suspicious. Investigators say deputies were called to Olman's home southwest of Lincoln around 8:00 Monday morning for a medical emergency. The sheriff's office says once on the scene, Oltman was found dead.
LSO says there was evidence of trauma on Oltman's body as well of some other suspicious circumstances investigators are looking into. The sheriff's department says they have yet to determine if there was a crime, but a search warrant has been issued and crime scene techs are at the home.
Investigators say Oltman’s 68-year-old wife was hospitalized for an unrelated medical condition.
