Republican Mike Flood is officially Nebraska's First District Representative in the U.S. House of Representatives.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi administered the oath of office to Flood Tuesday evening after he was elected June 28th to fill the remainder of Jeff Fortenberry's term.
Fortenberry resigned in March after being convicted of lying to the FBI.
Flood will now face Democratic candidate and former legislature colleague Patty Pansing Brooks in the November General to serve a full term that will begin in January.
He defeated Pansing Brooks in the June special election to fill out the current term.
