(Iowa) -- The Iowa Department of Public Safety is announcing the chief fo the Governor's School Safety Bureau.
Special Agent in Charge Don Schnitker will lead the the program designed to increase school safety. Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds announced the $100 million dollar program on June 14th. The new bureau will identify and assess threats to Iowa schools, oversee law enforcement and civilian training, monitor a threat reporting platform, and more. Schnitker has 21 years of experience in law enforcement and is a graduate of Iowa State University.
