DES MOINES, Iowa -- Another mostly dry week across Iowa sees an expansion of drought conditions.
This week's National Drought Monitor map shows a new area of moderate drought in Southeast Iowa.
Also, most of Southern and some of Eastern Iowa are now abnormally dry.
Moderate and severe drought persists across the northwest corner of Iowa, while Plymouth, Cherokee, and Woodbury counties in that part of the state are still under extreme drought conditions.
The map shows about 47 percent of Iowa abnormally dry or under some level of drought condition this week.
