Suspect In Custody In State Rec Area Homicide

Investigators say a suspect is in custody and will have an initial court appearance in connection with a murder in Lancaster County.

They say 22-year-old Taban Rik was arrested over the weekend and booked on suspicion of First-Degree Murder.

He was also cited for use of a firearm to commit a felony, possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person, and terroristic threats.

The victim, 42-year-old Benjamin Case of Lincoln, was shot and killed last Tuesday evening while on a boat at the marina at Branched Oak Lake State Recreation Area in the northwest part of the county.

Lancaster County Sheriff's Deputies continue to look into the fatal shooting.
