Three Iowa DOT Projects Receive Regional Awards

(Ames, IA) -- Three Iowa Department of Transportation projects are receiving regional awards.

Iowa's award winners are the following:

  • Council Bluffs Interstate System Dual, Divided Freeway (Operations Excellence, Large category - projects costing more than $200 million)
  • The Memorial Bridge, Interstate 74 Mississippi River Crossing (Quality of Life/Community Development, Large category - projects costing more than $200 million)
  • Emergency Divisible Load Management (Operations Excellence, Small category - projects costing up to $25 million)

The projects were honored Wednesday at the annual meeting of the Mid America Association of State Transportation Officials held in Des Moines. The three projects were selected from 18 entries across the 10-state region, including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
