(Omaha, NE) -- Creighton Men's Basketball announces their non-conference schedule for the 2022-23 season. The slate features trips to Hawaii, Texas, and Las Vegas, as well as a home matchup against the Nebraska Huskers.

Head Coach Greg McDermott says the team will be prepared to face what could be among the toughest non-conference schedules in program history.

"I’ve always felt like if you’ve got a good team and some veterans returning, you need to challenge yourself with a good schedule," McDermott says in a press release. "Not only are we playing a good schedule, but almost all of them are coming away from home. Most of them are neutral sites but we’re at Texas, and then we have the one high-major game at home with Nebraska, so that’s going to prepare us for about just anything we’re going to see in the BIG EAST."

Bluejays fans will have a chance to see the team in action as soon as October. The home exhibition game against Drury will be on Sunday, October 30th. Following the warmup, the regular season tips off at home against the University of St. Thomas on November 7th.

The Jays will fly out to Hawaii for the Maui Jim Maui Invitational for three games on Nov. 21-23. The bracket is yet to be determined, but the field includes Arizona, Arkansas, Cincinnati, Louisville, Ohio State, San Diego State and Texas Tech.

On December 1st, Creighton travels to play the Texas Longhorns in the Big 12 - BIG EAST Battle. A few days later on Dec.4, the Nebraska Huskers come to the CHI Health Center for the Jays final non-conference home game. The non-conference slate closes following a trip to Las Vegas in December to play BYU on Dec. 10th and Arizona State on Dec. 12.

The Creighton Men's Basketball team looks to capitalize on recent success in the upcoming season, as the Jays are coming off back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances. The 20-game conference schedule is expected to be released in September.
