(Des Moines, IA) -- Polk County Board of Supervisors is approving more than $36 million of American Rescue Plan Act funds for human and physical infrastructure needs in the community.

The Board voted unanimously Tuesday for what will be the largest single investment in the infrastructure.

The investment will wrap up what was given to Polk County from the ARPA passed by the U.S. Congress in 2021.

The plan highlights include $11 million for down payment assistance and major home repairs, $9 million for mental health service infrastructure, and $11 million for water quality projects.
