(Omaha, NE) -- An Omaha woman was one number away from winning the Powerball grand prize on July 25th.
Her consolation prize? 1 million dollars.
Wendy Donahue bought her Powerball ticket at Baker's at 505 North 155th Plaza in Omaha. Following the July 25th drawing, Wendy and her husband Kevin heard about a $1 million ticket sold from their Baker's.
"We thought, "What if?'," Donahue said in a Nebraska Lottery press release. "I zoned in on the third line and said, 'I think we hit $1 million!' We were both screaming."
Wendy and Kevin drove to Lincoln to the Nebraska Lottery's office to redeem their winnings on July 29th.
"That was the most stressful drive of my life," Kevin said.
The odds of winning $1 million playing Powerball is 1 in 11,688,053.52.
