(Cedar Falls, IA) -- The Falls Aquatic Season will be closing for this season on August 14th at 8pm due to a staffing shortage.

The Aquatic Center says the annual Doggie Dip will still be held on August 15th from 6pm-8pm. State law requires the falls to have a staff of 16 lifeguards per day, and the Falls says it will not be able to sustain that number beyond August 14th. The city will continue to offer some swimming opportunities at Peet Junior High School and will still accept swimming passes.

More details are available on the city's website.
