Gas Prices in Iowa Continue to Fall

(Iowa) -- Iowans are continuing to get some relief at the gas pump.

According to AAA, the average price for regular unleaded in Iowa is $3.77 a gallon, down almost 20 cents from this time last week and down 81 cents from this time last month. That's still 77 cents higher than this time last year. Prices do vary among the state's major metropolitan areas:

  • Des Moines: $3.58/gallon
  • Ames: $3.96/gallon
  • Cedar Rapids: $3.63/gallon
  • Iowa City: $3.83/gallon
  • Quad Cities: $3.66/gallon
  • Sioux City: $3.95/gallon
  • Waterloo/Cedar Falls: $3.72/gallon
  • Council Bluffs: $3.75/gallon

Gas prices in Iowa remain below the national average price of $4.13 a gallon.
