Omaha Police Arrest Suspect in First National Bank Attempted Robbery

(Omaha, NE) -- Omaha Police have arrested a man, wanted for trying to rob the First National Bank at 5006 Ames Avenue Wednesday, August 8th.

Police say 41-year-old Jason Felder tried to rob the bank around 3 pm. Felder handed an employee a note, saying there was a bomb in the building. Officers say Felder left the bank and encountered an officer. He then took the officer's gun, firing one shot. The officer proceeded to take back the gun, as Felder left the area on foot.

Officers found Felder at 4918 Fowler Avenue. He was taken into custody with help from a K-9 unit. After being transported to the Nebraska Medical Center, Felder is being held at Douglas County Corrections, facing charges of attempted robbery, assaulting an officer, possession of a gun by a prohibited person, burglary, attempted burglary and two counts of false imprisonment.
