(Bettendorf, IA) -- The only emergency animal hospital in the Quad Cities will be closed for two days during the week starting next week due to staff shortages.

The Animal Emergency Center of the Quad Cities in Bettendorf will be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays starting August 16th.

Dr. Daniel Drahos, President of AEC, says they need five doctors to be considered fully staffed, and right now, they only have three.

The next closest animal emergency hospital is Blue Pearl Pet Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
