Cedar Rapids School District Confirms Ransom Payment After Cyber Attack

(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- The Cedar Rapids Community School District is confirming they paid ransom to resolve the cyber security incident from July.

Superintendent Noreen Bush confirmed the payment in an email to community families.

She said the decision was made to pay a third-party entity to make sure sensitive information accessed could not be released.

The attack caused some summer activities to be canceled.
