(Nemaha County, NE) -- A former Lincoln sports journalist is sentenced to prison on child sex assault charges.
On Monday, Brian Rosenthal was sentenced to 30 to 50 years in prison on three charges of first degree sexual assault of a child. A Nemaha County judge sentenced Rosenthal to 30-50 years on each of the three felony charges. The three sentences will run concurrently.
Rosenthal was arrested in July 2021 after it was told to police that he had sexually assaulted a child between the ages of 12 to 16 years old between 2017 and 2018. At that time, Rosenthal was a staff writer for Nebraska Athletics, but had spent 14-years as a sports reporter for the Lincoln Journal Star.
