(Harrison County, IA) -- A Fremont, Nebraska man is facing charges in connection to the boating death of an Omaha woman.
The Harrison County Attorney's Office in Iowa is charging 22 year old Garret Vanderheiden with involuntary manslaughter and boating while intoxicated. Vanderheiden is accused of drinking and operating a 30-foot boat on the Missouri River near Mondamin, Iowa over Memorial Day weekend when it sank.
Multiple people on the boat were rescued, but 20 year old Emma Olsen died in the accident. Her body was found in the river four days after the crash.
