Omaha Police Department launches online reporting website

(Omaha, NE) -- The Omaha Police Department launches a new online reporting system through the department website to report a number of non-emergency incidents.

OPD says the new website will allow citizens another way to report non-emergency crimes in addition to contacting their Telephone Report Squad (402-444-4877).

Non-Emergency Incidents Include:

  • Shoplifting
  • Animal Bites
  • Fraud/ID Theft
  • Graffiti
  • Harassment
  • Littering
  • Lost/Missing Property or Pets
  • Thefts
  • Trespassing
  • Special Attention
  • Traffic Complaints

The portal can be found on OPD's webpage under the “File Electronic Report” tab on the left side. Omaha Police say the reports will be reviewed and forwarded to their investigative units for follow-up. The public should still contact 911 directly for immediate/active emergencies that require an on scene police response.
