Troopers Find Over 100 LBS of Meth, 9 LBS of Fentanyl in I-80 Traffic Stop

(Grand Island, NE) -- Four people are arrested after meth and fentanyl are found during a traffic stop on I-80.

The Nebraska State Patrol says just after 1:00 Tuesday afternoon, a trooper spotted a Nissan Rogue with a license plate violation on Interstate 80 near Utica. During the traffic stop, investigators say an NSP K9 detected the odor of a controlled substance coming from inside the vehicle. The state patrol says during a search of the vehicle, 101 pounds of suspected methamphetamine and 9 pounds of suspected fentanyl were found in bags in the back of the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle is identified as 38 year old Jhonny Murillo Martinez, of Hyattsville, Maryland. The passengers were 24 year old Tonny Guevara Chacon, of Lorton, Virginia; 27 year old Rene Rodriguez Morales, of Falls Church, Virginia; and 38 year old Marta Rodriguez, of Falls Church, Virginia.

All four were arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver, and no drug tax stamp.
