September 1st Begins National Suicide Awareness Month

(Omaha, NE) -- As September marks National Suicide Awareness Month, the Nebraska Regional Poison Center is reminding Nebraskans of the resources available 24/7.

At anytime, if you or someone you know if experiencing a mental health crisis, call or text 988 immediately. People can also chat on the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988lifeline.org/chat.

The National Institute of Mental Health states, as of 2020, suicide is one of the top 10 leading causes of death in the United States and is the second leading cause for death among Americans ages 10-34. Further help regarding behavioral health can be found here.
