Ralston Police Warn Of Auto Break-Ins

On social media today, Ralston Police say they took numerous reports over the Labor Day holiday weekend of thefts from vehicles.

Ralston officers say the majority of recent crimes in the Douglas County community consist of vehicle break-ins in driveways, on the streets in front of homes, or in apartment complex parking lots.

They say such thefts would be drastically reduced if people would lock their vehicle doors and avoid leaving valuables in their vehicles.

Police point out valuables in a center compartment and glove box are vulnerable because that is the first place a criminal will look.

Leaving nothing visible leaves thieves little or no reason to break into a vehicle.
