(Ankeny, IA) -- The city of Ankeny is offering incentives to experienced law enforcement officers if they join the city's police force.
The Ankeny Police Department is offering a $5,000 bonus to city, county, or state law enforcement officers who make a lateral move to join the APD. To qualify, officers must have at least 12 months experience. The $5,000 bonus will be added to officer's paychecks in intervals:
- $1,500 after completion of Field Training
- $1,500 after two years of service
- $2,000 after three years of service
The starting salary for officers with at least 2 years experience is $67,443. For officers with at least 4 years of experience, the starting salary is $74,358. More information on the Lateral Move Program is available on the city of Ankeny's website.
