(LeClaire, IA) -- LeClaire is joining the list of Quad City Area communities approving settlements with Canadian Pacific.
LeClaire city council approved the settlement unanimously on Tuesday night pending the railway merger with Canadian Pacific and Kansas City Southern. The city will get $750,000 to handle the effects of the merger.
The nearby city of Camanche rejected a settlement saying the current offer doesn’t do enough to address the concerns of the town.
The Surface Transportation Board will make the final decision on the merger this winter.
The next Quad City area town to vote on a settlement is Princeton, Iowa on September 13th.
