(Ames, IA) -- Parents of young children who want advice, have an opportunity this fall. Iowa State University Extension is hosting a 9-week, on-line class for families of children 8 and under. Human Sciences Specialist Malisa Rader says the $40 class will feature two-hour sessions featuring strategies for:

  • Dealing with children's difficult behaviors using developmentally appropriate responses;
  • Controlling their own anger;
  • Helping children control their anger;
  • Teaching children how to resolve conflicts without using violence;
  • Using positive discipline methods that fit the children's age; and
  • Reducing the influence of media violence on children.

Rader says space is limited for the ACT Raising Safe Kids workshop.
