(McGregor, IA) -- An Iowa State Park makes the top ten list of America's favorite national landmarks, according to a new survey.
Travel company Aqua Expeditions recently surveyed more than 2,000 Americans, and Iowa's Pikes Peak State Park came in at #8 on the list of the top 250 best national landmarks. The top ten in the survey include:
- Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee
- Niagara Falls, New York
- Elephant Rocks, Missouri
- Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
- Redwood National and State Parks, California
- Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, Hawaii
- Hanauma Bay, Hawaii
- Pikes Peak State Park, Iowa
- The Grand Canyon, Arizona
- Waikiki Beach, Hawaii
Other Iowa destinations making the list of the top 250 national landmarks include Effigy Mounds National Monument at #109, Laura Ingalls Wilder Park at #110, Maquoketa Caves State Park at #111, and Ledges State Park at #218.
