(Bettendorf, IA) -- A Quad Cities based restaurant chain is filing for bankruptcy.
Happy Joe’s CEO, Thomas Sacco, signed the voluntary petition for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
The Bettendorf company announced its opening locations in Africa and the Middle East this year. Two Happy Joe’s locations in eastern Iowa closed in August due to staffing issues.
Sacco still has control over the business under Chapter 11 and payment plans will be created to help the business get out of debt.
