Husker Football Back To Basics In Off Week

After the Nebraska football team loses to Oklahoma on Saturday and parts ways with its Defensive Coordinator on Sunday, the conventional wisdom is an off week is certainly welcome to allow interim head coach Mickey Joseph to settle in, and, especially, focus on fundamental football.

Though not totally unexpected, Joseph announced he has relieved Defensive Coordinator Erik Chinander of his position after the Huskers lost 49-to-14 to the Sooners to fall to one-and-three on the still-young season.

Special Teams Coordinator Bill Busch will take over as Defensive Coordinator for the remainder of the year.

Nebraska's next game will be October First, back in Big Ten Conference play, hosting Indiana at Nebraska Memorial Stadium.
