One Person Dies, Three Hospitalized After Omaha Crash

Omaha Police accident investigators are looking into a four-vehicle crash that killed one person at 156th and West Maple Road.

Police and Omaha Fire were called to the scene at 3:40 p.m. Sunday.

They say the investigation to this point determined a Acura driven by 84-year old Jewel Gay westbound at a high rate of speed crossed into the eastbound turn lanes, hitting a Subaru nearly head-on.

The collision then impacted a Volvo and a Hyundai.

Police say Jewel Gay's front seat passenger, 65 year old Velma Sanders, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Gay was taken to a hospital in critical condition, as was the driver of the Subaru.

Police say the driver of the Volvo was hospitalized in serious condition.
