(Lincoln, NE) -- A Lincoln doctor is arrested, accused of sexually assaulting at least two of his patients.
The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says around 9:30 Thursday morning their investigators, along with the Metro Area Fugitive Task Force, served an arrest warrant for 54 year old Dr. Scott E. Schmidt at his Lincoln home.
Investigators say Dr. Scott Schmidt was arrested for 1st and 2nd degree sexual assault for incidents involving two of his patients that occurred between January 1st and July 1st of this year. Schmidt is listed as an Addiction Medicine Specialist, treating patients for alcohol or substance abuse and mental health issues.
The investigation is ongoing and the Sheriff's Office urges anyone with information or who may have been sexual victimized by Dr. Scott Schmidt to contact the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office at (402) 441-6500.
