(Des Moines, IA) -- Upgrades are being planned for Des Moines' Easter Lake Park.
Polk County Conservations says the new plan focused on universal design, which will make the facility accessible to everyone, regardless of experience or ability. The new project will include a rowing facility for people regardless of experience or disabilities, a kayak and canoe launch, an accessible beach, and more. Construction is expected to begin this fall, with a grand opening planned for the Spring of 2024.
The project is receiving donations through the Great Outdoors Foundation.
