(Omaha, NE) -- A temporary road closure on Dewey Avenue, near the Nebraska Medicine Emergency Room, will begin next week.
Nebraska Medicine says starting Monday, October 3rd, construction crews will be closing a section of Dewey Avenue between the Nebraska Medical Center Emergency Department entrance and the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center delivery dock.
Nebraska Med says the closure is required for soil stabilization work to support building demolition for the former home of the Munroe-Meyer Institute. During the closure all Emergency Department traffic will need to approach from 44th and Farnam Street. That is currently the route the majority of patients use to access the Emergency entrance. Signage will be in place to direct traffic.
The work is scheduled for roughly four weeks. Dewey Avenue is expected to be reopened on Sunday, October 30th.
