Lincoln man arrested for Thursday afternoon homicide

(Lincoln, NE) -- A Lincoln man is arrested in connection to a Thursday afternoon homicide.

Lincoln Police say just before 2:45 Thursday afternoon, officers were called to a home near 65th Street and Madison Avenue for a check welfare call, where the caller reported a deceased individual inside a residence. LPD says when officers arrived on the scene, they found a 48-year-old man dead inside the house.

Police say also at the scene were a witness and 35 year old Joshua Larsen. Investigators say the victim and Larsen were involved in an intimate relationship. LPD says after interviewing Larsen and the witness, and gathering additional evidence, Larsen was arrested for Second Degree Murder. Lincoln Police say the investigation is in the early stages and investigators are continuing to gather and process evidence to determine a timeline of events leading up to the death.

The Lincoln Police Department says it is not releasing the victim’s name at this time in order to allow family members to make notifications.
