(Des Moines, IA) -- The State of Iowa is taking measures to guarantee election integrity ahead of next month's midterms. Secretary of State Paul Pate says the systems are safe and secure and sensitive voting information is sealed.
He says each vote tabulator undergoes a logic accuracy test or pre-election audit, in which the public can attend and watch. Sample ballots are tested on the machine to ensure tabulators are working correctly and recording vote properly.
Pate joined John Chiodo of the Polk County Election Office Wednesday for the testing event.
The Midterm elections are November 8th.
