It's A Husker Football Friday

With many season goals very much within their reach under interim Head Coach Mickey Joseph, the Nebraska football team is in New Jersey for a Friday evening match up with Rutgers.

Kick off from SHI Stadium in Piscataway is set for shortly after 6 p.m. CST and the game is being televised nationally on FS1.

NU is 2-3 overall, following a 35-21 victory over Indiana in Lincoln last weekend.

The Big Red is 1-1 in the conference;

The Scarlet Knights are 3-2 overall, 0-2 in the B1G.

Nebraska and Rutgers have met just five times, all NU victories, and before the two schools joined up in the Big Ten Conference, Nebraska and Rutgers had played only once before.

That was a 28 to nothing Nebraska win on November 2nd, 1920 in the Polo Grounds in New York City, a long gone enclosure in Harlem that hosted many sports including the football and baseball Giants, the forerunner of the Jets, the Yankees, and the early Mets.
