The flu hits the Louisville Public School District so hard, school was cancelled Thursday.
"We thought it was prudent to just call it a day today because we couldn't find enough substitute teachers anyway to cover the classes," Louisville School Board President John Winkler told KFAB Radio News.
He says about 20 teachers and staff became ill along with some students.
Winkler says at this point it's not Covid, but more of a norovirus, or what Winkler calls "in today's world, your more 'run of the mill flu'."
Winkler says with a scheduled off day Friday, they will use that time to clean the Pre-K thru 12 building and recover through the weekend.
