New Omaha Fire Rescue Squad In Operation

The Omaha Fire Department’s fleet of emergency vehicles has increased with the addition of a second medic unit, Medic 25, at Omaha Fire Station 24 at 2304 Fontenelle Boulevard.

That station is staffed with Medic 24, Engine 24, and now Medic 25.

The department says the new squad is expected to help reduce the call volume for the other medic units in North and North Central Omaha.

The new unit goes online as a new candidate class for the Omaha Fire Department will be welcomed today by Mayor Jean Stothert and Fire Chief Dan Olsen.
