Omaha Fire Department adds another medic unit

(Omaha, NE) -- The Omaha Fire Department adds another medic unit.

OFD says Omaha Fire Station 24, located at 2304 Fontenelle Boulevard, added a second medic unit, Medic 25, earlier this month. The fire station is now staffed with Medic 24, Engine 24, and Medic 25. The fire department says the new medic unit will help reduce the call volume for the other medic units in North and North/Central Omaha.

“The addition of Medic 25 is part of our continual evaluation of emergency response needs,” said Omaha Fire Chief Dan Olsen. “We are committed to the best equipment, training, and personnel to serve the citizens of Omaha.” This is the fourth emergency apparatus that has been placed in service under Mayor Stothert and Fire Chief Olsen.
