(Lincoln, NE) -- Thieves try to steal an ATM in Lincoln, but end up not actually getting any money.
Lincoln Police say around 4:00 Monday morning, officers were called to the Westgate Bank near 17th and South Street for a reported ATM theft. Police say a caller reported that unknown individuals were using a truck in an attempt to pull the ATM from its foundation. Investigators say arriving officers located an abandoned 2005 Ram 1500 and a damaged ATM.
Police say there was no monetary loss from the ATM, but damage to the machine and its surrounding infrastructure is estimated at $105,000. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
