(Lincoln, NE) -- Nebraska's Garrett Nelson is named to the All-Big Ten second team.
On Tuesday, the Big Ten announced the defensive teams, with Nelson being the only Husker selected. The junior edge rusher was selected to the second team at defensive end by both coaches and the media. Nelson started every game this season, making for 32 consecutive career starts. He led Nebraska with 9 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks while recording a career-high 65 total tackles. He also netted two pass breakups, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble.
Two Huskers received All-Big Ten honorable mention nods, linebacker Luke Reimer and cornerback Quinton Newsome. Offensive honors will be announced on Wednesday.
